The dangers coming from impacts at 50 km/h or at a lower speed are usually understimated. Some research has shown that also impacts at low speeds against fixed obstacles in urban areas can cause serious injuries and even the death of vehicle's passengers. For this reason SMA has developed SMA City, a device for road safety unique in its kind. Its extremely reduced size (just 900 mm of lenght) doesn't ruin the aesthetics of the city and assures a great safety by absorbing the impacts against fixed obstacles, like light poles, three, roundabout and monuments with a great simplicity and cheapness.
